Money Fit by DRS is licensed by the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services.

Initial fee and creditor participation

Michigan law permits an initial fee of up to $50. A licensee must attempt to obtain creditor consent to participate in a debt management plan from at least 51% of the consumer’s creditors, by number or dollar amount, within 90 days after establishing the plan.

Debt-management contract

The contract identifies participating creditors, amounts owed, applicable charges, the beginning and termination dates, the obligations to be paid, and the names and addresses of the licensee and consumer.

Cancellation and fees

A consumer may cancel until midnight of the third business day after the contract first becomes effective by delivering written notice of cancellation. Additional rights and limitations are established by Michigan law.
