Childcare Assistance in Idaho
We’re thrilled to announce that Money Fit by Debt Reduction Services has been awarded a grant that includes funds for paid child care to assist parents and guardians who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of it. This initiative aims to alleviate the burden of childcare costs during the critical period of job seeking and initial employment, thereby supporting families in their journey towards securing stable, long-term housing. The Paid Child Care program generously covers childcare expenses at IdahoSTARS providers, enabling parents and guardians to attend job interviews, participate in employment testing (e.g. drug testing), engage in Department of Labor coaching, attend training programs, and navigate through the initial 1-3 weeks of employment before receiving their first paycheck.
